I've been looking around, and for as far as I can tell there's no code written yet? If the choice has definitely fallen on c++ (which I recommend), then I could put together a little app to get us started, with audio and 2d graphics support.
There are two apis which are both cross-platform and easy to use which I would implement. There's pixeltoaster, a graphics API. and FMOD, an audio API.
lead programmer: Me or Eisregen. And we try to focus on the Storyboard for now becuase we need to get an overview of waht we need (regarding the features of the engine and the capabilities)
And we still have not chosed programming language and framework/engine.
What do yuo think about SDL?
I've never used SDL personally. Judging from the website it would do the job just fine.
I suppose that a straightforward remake / sequel of Toon Struck is not going to take great technical expertise or effort, it's a very simple game from a technical point of view.
