It seems like the bubble is bigger this year than any other year, and, unfortunately, that’s not a good thing. There haven’t been any depth players that have played consistent enough to warrant a “lock” status, and therefore there are probably 5-10 roster spot open for nearly 20 different players. After missing last week’s preseason game, Valoaga apparently won over some of our staff with the 20 snaps he played against the Browns. Meanwhile, the fact that Jonathan Freeny nearly played for the entire game sent a clear message that he shouldn’t be as comfortable as most of us expected. Now only seven of 11 staff members have him on the inside.Despite playing for a ton of snaps in the preseason finale, the staff still believes Anthony Zettel is in... except for Justin Simon. Conversely, after sitting Thursday night, we all think Miles Killebrew has nothing to worry about and is a consensus IN.Lions notes: ESPN ranks Matthew Stafford a top 10 QBs in value, accuracy ESPN came out with their advanced statistics from the 2017 season regarding NFL quarterbacks (Insider required). Matthew Stafford came out eighth in overall value added and was the 10th most accurate quarterback last season. Last year Marvin Jones Jr Jersey , ESPN determined Stafford was the third-most valuable quarterback in the league. Speaking of Stafford, he wished former Detroit Lions receiver Nate Burleson a happy 40th 37th birthday over the weekend: Both Lions Wire and MLive dropped new 53-man roster predictions on Monday—although one included Cornelius Washington... Just last week the Indianapolis Colts signed former Lions running back Tion Green. Sadly, Green was cut just hours before the Colts’ preseason game Monday night: One of the Chicago Bears’ best defenders, edge rusher Leonard Floyd, suffered a broken finger that required surgery. However, the Bears are hopeful he’ll still be ready—but not fully healed—by Week 1. T.J. Lang, Jace Billingsley and Toby Johnson all missed Monday’s practice, but were seen working on the sidelines.
