Gamers who have been waiting for Metroid Prime 4 for a long time, which indeed had experienced internal development problems, will indeed end up disappointed with the Nintendo Direct presentation last night. Why? Because despite the statement how they are still working hard to get it done, Nintendo again doesn't offer any new information. But as compensation, they turned out to have an extra surprise that was never predicted before. A new series for Metroid 2D!
That's right, Nintendo has finally officially introduced Metroid Dread – a new two-dimensional Metroid series after more than 19 years. The concept itself is similar to the previous series, where you will get new powers and be equipped with various weapons for the exploration and fighting process.
The difference? Samus will now continue to be hunted by a robotic entity named E.M.M.I who will consistently hunt him. Samus now had to constantly avoid them while looking for ways to subdue them. Metroid Dread itself will take the story after Metroid Fusion.
Metroid Dread will be released on October 8, 2021, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
