Yup. We can just lay back and watch the fans getting disappointed as the play the "original" TS2 and then we blow out our own Version an become the gods of Point'n'Click
This is great news indeed- but what's fascinating to me is the fact that these notes on the music cues seem to come from before the game was completed. There are almost a dozen tracks listed that were either replaced or removed entirely! For example, like in the preview video that's on YouTube, the castle theme is "Barber of Seville Overture" instead of "State Processional".
I've been working on collecting the APM tracks used in the game for some time now, and this really helps fill it out, but maddeningly, there are still some left unidentified!
Just got done going through the notes and have managed a semi-complete tracklist. I've put asterisks next to the Dentist's tracks, because IMO they're entirely inappropriate. I mean, really, a tango??

I don't think the cues remaining will ever be identified unless we get some new clues- or else we get lucky and just stumble on them!
I just received an e-mail from Keith Arem yesterday. Amongst other things, he wrote:
"Hello Bernard –
Thank you for your mail and kind words. I appreciate your long time support, and I’m overwhelmed by the flood of fan mail I’ve received over the past decade from the game.
I maintain a warehouse with all of the original Toonstruck development assets, including the broadcast Digibeta masters, dialog recordings (and outtakes), animation cells, and backgrounds. Since my role as Audio Director with Virgin Interactive, I now run PCB Productions in Los Angeles. In addition to our post production sound services for games and films, I am directing many of the large console games in the industry (http://www.pcbproductions.com/HTMLfiles/Credits/credits.html), as well as my first feature film later this year.
I have remained in contact with many of my colleagues from the Toonstruck project, and we’ve considered reviving the project for the past several years. The “second half” of the game was not cancelled due to CD-ROM or space limitations, but due to the fact that the game was over 4 years in development, and considerably over budget. The executive decision was to cut the game in half, polish the existing materials, and continue development on Acts 3 & 4 if the game performed well. While most of the animation, backgrounds, design and voice work were already developed for the 2nd half of the game, the programming and implementation were not.
The cost of the original development was well over $10M dollars in 1996, which was considerably higher than most other games of its time. If we were to re-release the original title and bring the game up to today’s standards, we’d need to raise funding to restore many of the original assets, rebuild much of the original code, and re-incorporate the materials into the project. To release the 2nd half, we’ll need a considerable amount of programming and development to complete the vision for this monumental project. I’m impressed there is a fan movement to create a sequel, and I hope this would not deflate any interest in our development.
I receive hundreds of letters each year about the voice and music work from the game, and based on the continued popularity I would love to see Toonstruck back in development. I have seen several of the petitions circulating the internet, and I would hope that these do not try to capitalize on the fans to donate money towards this project, however I would hope they could build awareness for the game, and help show potential investors and publishers that the project is a viable investment.
I appreciate your continued interest in our project, and I hope we are able to make it happen!
Best Regards –
Keith Arem"
It is time we take a stand. Each one of us should write to all the adventure games publishers/developers, gaming websites and distribution platforms we can reach, so as to trigger some sort of a viral network effect. As far as I'm concerned, no matter how hard I'm ready to try, I just can't do it on my own, as I don't have any strong professional connection with the video game industry. I need the support of each and every fan, no, Toonstruck needs your support, right now!
I'm looking forward to hearing from you all. Yes, I'm talking to you, newmy51/Drew Blanc ^^
Come on guys, why wouldn't you be cooperative for a moment, instead of mocking everything and everyone you don't know? I'm sure you're very dedicated to your homemade amateur project, but we're talking about the REAL stuff here, it may be our only chance to ever play the actual Toonstruck 2 as it was always meant to be!
I know, it's always easy to make fun of the others' awkwardness, but don't you think we all have better things to do than just fighting each other? I wouldn't have come to this forum if I didn't believe you were all talented and dedicated people, you know.
I'm just asking for help, for the sake of the original team's hope and dreams, that's all.

You're fairly entertaining. You keep mocking since you've registered if you didn't realize that already, so back off, chuckles
You're not asking for help, you're asking for enemies. If you want cooperation, ask for it in a friendly way.
Well, I'm glad I entertained you, at least I didn't come here in vain, did I?
Could you please quote precisely what in my ORIGINAL message was mocking? I only overreacted to your friend's reply, because I was expecting support and interest when I brought you this piece of news, not being called a spammer and a hater. Boy, boy, this isn't a friendly neighborhood, is it?
Believe me when I say I'm not asking for enemies. Alas, if you consider every outsider with different opinions an enemy, you may think I'm an enemy. In that case, I'm afraid there is really nothing I can do for you.
So tell me, how do you want me to ask for cooperation in a "friendly" way? I'm all ears.

Well, what did you expect for posting the same information a couple of times. A medal or something ?
This is maybe the friendliest neighbourhood in the toonworld.
Asking in a friendly way: Try a mix of respect and politeness.
Well, you got me there, it was late, I was tired, and I fcuked up. Yeah, I'm kind of a n00b, if you will. Yes, looking back, it wasn't the wisest thing to do, so I can only admit you are actually right on this point. Happy now?
I was not expecting a medal, but I wasn't expecting to get bombed either. You could just have ignored me, or politely asked me not to do it again (see? This is what I call being "friendly" or "respectful"). Multiposting may be a stupid move, but it's not a crime or an offense.
Were you actually pissed because of the message itself or the fact I posted it twice? I'd like to know.
No kidding, if this is the friendliest neighbourhood in the toonworld, I'd better stay away from the other neighbourhoods if I don't wait to get torn into pieces next time I open my mouth. Thanks for the info, next time I'll wear my nuke-proof hat, +20 against angry nerds.
There is a problem with respect and politeness: when you get attacked first, usually you don't feel like being respectful and polite in return, you just want to defend yourself and make your point. I guess this is part of human nature. I'm sure you would have the same reaction I had, should I have yelled at you without giving you the time to explain yourself. Let me rephrase that: if your house is surrounded by barbwires and gun turrets, don't expect me to bring flowers.
Therefore, I will try my best to ask you in a respectful and polite way if there is any chance we can put this regrettable incident behind us and move on. Please, please, pretty please?
