Heya! I've just found this forum and I've been a fan of Toonstruck for basically all my life. I love the game and always wished for the second one to be reality, so maybe beeing able to help with the second one would be an absolute dream!
Age: 21
Interests / Talents: I'm interested in Cartoons, Animation, Digital Art, videogames, Character design and all the things that have something to do with that. I'm drawing for 9 years now in a range from full blown digital art down to pixelart. I've also worked in a media design company.
How did you hear from the Forum?: Over a post on Facebook.
Why are you interested in this project?: Like I've already said. I love Toonstruck and have been playing it since I was a kid. I also just love videogames and Cartoons and would love to be able to work on a project like this.
What can you do for our project?: Anything that has to do with art. That basically means: Concept sketches, Concept Art, Background drawings, Character drawing, any kind of digital art, promotion art, Animation, pixelart, effects and photo-editing if needed. Anything in that area.
Other than that what might also be interessting: I'm a girl, I speak english and german, I've done lots of fanart for other games. Here is a link to my deviantart gallery: http://blaideblack.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=/ (It's mostly full of Animal Art, I am able to adapt to other Styles, like Toonstruck though)
Greetings from Germany here ;). Well, first of all, thank you for your interest in our project. Several years ago, the project somehow stumbled over many many problems as for example the lack of free time, the unclear state of the copyright / IP rights and, of course, the problem of achieving milestones to keep everyone motivated. I am really happy that you are interested but I dont want to lie regarding the current state of the project. Its a rough time and the development nearly hit ground zero. So if you can accept this fact, and all the demotivating problems coming with it, you are more than welcome to join the team :).
Its time to give this project a breath of life again and I know that its my job to do that. I skipped through your deviant art gallery and the King Candy Art dump was the one which got me. I dont know exactly why, but I think you could really get to the "Toonstruck" Style as we know it. There were some artists in the project who tried to master it and I can tell you that it will be really hard to do. So the best assignment I can think of right now would be, for you, to just study the Toonstruck style. The backgrounds, the characters, even the icons / props. Try to draw some sketches / concepts and be your own worst critic. I mean, the TS2 Project really builds upon the work of the artists. One of the key components of the game, is its style. If we could get our hands on an artist who is able to provide such material, I think we would really get this thing going again.
Again, thanks for your post :) Happy to hear from you soon,
I've always followed the project a little bit over on facebook, but never actually knew there was a forum like this for it. I'm definitely alright with how the project stays right now and not demotivated at all. It's either a win or a loss in this case and I'm okay with both, but it gives me a chance to actually do something, so I want to try and go for it :)
And thank you very much on your compliment! If you want, I can create a Toonstruck art dump and post it in here in a couple days. A little showcase of what and how I'm able to do things, I think this would give a better look on where I have to work on and what you can do with my work :)
Yeah, an art dump would be great. But please, take your time and dont just rush it. Its a really hard style you want to master so give it some time to evolve and I / we will be happy to see your first approaches :)
