By the way, there's one more forgotten (and unfinished) game known as Curly. There's an awesome trailer and a playable demo on http://pcgtw.retro-net.de/index&...=games:curlyadv. I find the game's atmosphere quite similar to Toonstruck in some ways, so perhaps it can be a source of inspiration.

I think Noctropolis is an interesting one... It's in the comic style, though a dark one. And it has an evil character named Flux
