FIFA announced the total prize money for the tournament as $420 million. This is 60% increase from the money that was announced for 2006 world cup. At the beginning each team will get $1 million for the cost of preparation and once when they have entered into the group stage the teams will get $8 million. Venues

The FIFA organizers in 2005 revealed a provisional list that consists of 13 venues to host the world cup. They were Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Kimberley, Nelspruit, Orkney, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, and Rustenburg. Then this was lessened down to ten venues which were officially announced by FIFA on 17th March 2006.
