COLOMBO Maillot Neymar Paris Saint Germain , Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa returned on Monday after undertaking a tour of Kenya where the two countries entered into eight agreements to strengthen relations, President's Office said here.


Rajapaksa attended the 50th anniversary celebrations of Kenya' s independence.


"Guided by the necessity to establish a solid framework to facilitate seamless engagement between the two Governments, the two Leaders commended the signing of the Agreement establishing the Kenya -- Sri Lanka Joint Commission for Cooperation," a statement by Sri Lanka's External Affairs Ministry said.


The Joint Commission for Cooperation will be the primary point of contact for advancing, monitoring and evaluating bilateral ties between the two countries.


Seven other agreements on bilateral relations, trade Maillot Edinson Cavani Paris Saint Germain , economic cooperation, visa exemption for diplomats, tourism and sports were signed between the two leaders.


Rajapaksa and Kenyatta also instructed the relevant institutions to initiate consultations leading to the conclusion of agreements in the areas of investment promotion and protection and avoidance of double taxation.

This was Rajapaksa's second visit to Kenya since 2000.

WELLINGTON, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Young people can be at greater risk of depression if their bodies have too much or too little of the trace element selenium, according to New Zealand research out Thursday.


A total of 978 young adults aged 17 to 25 were asked to complete a depression questionnaire and track their mood daily for two weeks Maillot Marquinhos Paris Saint Germain , while blood tests were also taken to determine their selenium levels in the University of Otago study.


Young adults with either too low or too high levels of selenium showed the highest risk of depressive symptoms and poorer mood, but lower concentrations were found to be more detrimental, study leader Dr Tamlin Conner said in a statement.


"Our strongest finding was that young adults with the lowest selenium concentrations reported the most depressive symptoms," said Conner.


Adequate selenium intake was required to prevent oxidative damage to the brain and nervous system, which contributed to the development of depression.

However, clinical trials would be necessary to determine whether increasing selenium intakes in young people with low intake could reduce the risk of depression.
