Hi, I'm Mike. I don't really know how I can help you since I have limited programming experience, but I do love the original game and would like to see the sequel made. Has anyone tried to contact any of the developers for Toonstruck 1 to see if you can get your hands on any of the unreleased material for the planned sequel?
Heyho Mike, I wrote some emails to some of the producers and of course to Virgin Interactive but they all ignored the mails -.-... I'm very happy to have you aboard because it seems like you are very encouraged to help us. I think that you could just advertise our project if you don't already know something else to do. So welcome in the Team
-> Just a short question: how did you get to know from our Project?
Ah, I expected so. So the idea is to basically make the whole thing from scratch? Yeah I can advertise the project, get it on the web directories, post on other forums etc. I can also help proof-read any English you need corrected in the script. I also speak Spanish, so I could eventually translate the script once it's finished.
I found the project on youtube while looking for unreleased material for Toonstruck. There was a video with a link to the website, so that's how I ended up here.
Just another question, since Virgin Interactive went bust, who now owns the rights to the game?
thats a really good question but i think there will be never an answer to it because every State has a different Copyright /Rights Managment. I think the rights still belong to virgin. Virgin itself isn't dead yet, just the Virgin Interactive area is down.
But i don't think that this is important because we try to rebuild the screens we already have from toonstruck2 and then build the whole game on our own because we will never be able to build the game like it was meant to be but i think that a fan project which is founded on the fans will form up the sequel, Toonstruck deserves.
Yeah, I presume that there won't be a problem since we don't belong to any organization and we aren't selling the game. I think the materials used (the characters etc) fall under abandonware or copyleft. However, it would still be nice to get some of the original material from the unreleased sequel.
