Modern graphics processor units are capable of a remarkable achievement of computing performance, executing calculations to create a realistic visual image. But for some users, it's never enough. In an effort to improve performance and higher the number of frames per second, users are turning to applications and tools to overclock GPUs to bring up the hidden GPU potential.
With a little research and a little patience, you can also use some tools to overclock your GPU.
WARNING
GPU Overclock You can suppress the extra amount of performance from your GPU, but before diving further, you should at least pay attention to two things:
Overclocking can damage or shorten the life of your GPU. You're pretty much running on top of the actual default specifications to deliver stable performance over the life of the GPU. By improving performance, you can put the GPU under pressure which can damage or destroy important components. see recommended video card in thegamingpcguide designed for 720 and 1080p res
As another consequence, GPU overclocking will scorch your warranty, as you run the device under a higher level of stress than designed. It's not too difficult to overclock safely, but if you do something wrong, do not expect to be fixed or replaced.
RivaTuner
RivaTuner is a freeware of old graphics but it is one of the solid overclocking tools. Using names after the older generation of Nvidia graphics cards, RivaTuner provides a good choice for Nvidia tuning and some ATI / AMD graphics cards. Not much development has been released since the last launch, but if you have an older graphics card, you can try RivaTuner on this old graphics card. You can try this tool by directly downloading it here:
MSI Afterburner
Built around and into the shadows of RivaTuner, MSI Afterburner is a refinement of its ancestors. Afterburner allows you to tweak your system's core voltages, cores and shader clocks, and fan speed with simple slider controls, as well as monitor your card's vital stats through a series of graphics on the main screen. You can even force your fan on the border to keep your card cool. Afterburner allows you to organize up to five different overclocking programs, which means you can save and switch to certain configuration settings. There is also an option to integrate the Kombustor benchmarking tool for one click. Download it here.
