As we list the greatest Jordan Brand athletes of all-time Jordan 7 as part of the Road to the Air Jordan 30, you'll see that some lived up to the name, others faltered and one set the bar. Jokes, people, jokes. Because there was that one time during Midnight Madnes& ah, you know what happened, no need to rehash it. Well, at least we know he can sell kicks (see: OVO x Air Jordan 10 madness ), he has that going for him. Don't quit your day job, Drizzy& Joe Johnson, fair or not, will always be judged by the massive contracts he has received throughout the years. Even though most people wouldn't be able to name a single memorable thing Johnson has done in his NBA career, he has amassed an impressive resume that includes multiple NBA All-Star appearances and a sneaker game that includes retros that desperately need a retail release but have yet to do so like the Air Jordan 16.
Mike Bibby has been a Jordan head longer than some of our readers have been alive and he always had amazing kicks that fans gravitated towards. Take this Air Jordan 12 PE for example and the countless other retro PEs he has rocked in his career. One of two New York Yankees on this list, CC Sabathia has more than earned the right to wear Air Jordan 11 cleats whenever he feels like it. As the Jordan Shoes one-time ace of the premiere franchise in all of sports, Sabathia was sensational since making the jump from Cleveland, leading the Yankees to a World Series victory in 2009 and earning multiple All-Star berths. Injuries and other issues have led Sabathia to lose of his effectiveness the past few years, so all we have now are the memories of his cool exclusives, like the 12s pictured above. Michael Jordan has made a habit out of making friends and rivals future Jordan 5 business associates.
Have we finally reached a point where a new Air Jordan just doesn't move the needle anymore? Nope, because in spite of adidas and Kanye successfully reinventing themselves, the world still stops for the next Air Jordan. It may not have the co-sign of the Kardashian-West social media empire, but every major news outlet in the world and every sneakerhead will have something to say about the new Air Jordan, especially one that hits a milestone such as the 30. It will be talked about, dissected and chances are, people won't like it. But people didn't like the Air Jordan 20 when it dropped a decade ago, but it sold very well when it got a retro release last year. People were not feeling the Air Jordan 10 because MJ was off playing baseball and yet we got people clamoring for the Double Nickel and the Bulls Over Broadway last year.
Michael, Tinker and Jordan Brand are always looking Jordan 4 to the future and staying ahead of the curve and by doing so, we don't feel like the Air Jordan has hit a mid-life crisis (although you could argue Jordan as a business is already there because of their reliance on retros). Maybe when it turns 40 and hooks up with a significantly younger brand to breathe new life into them then we can talk about being "washed". What? Road To The Air Jordan 30 is a series of features from Kicks On Fire that will be taking a look at the Air Jordan's legacy leading up to the launch of the Air Jordan XXX. Check out the feature hub page here. ÿþWe all find ways to express ourselves. Whether it be through collecting sneakers, playing basketball, creating sculptures, or even taking it a step further and using our own body as a canvas, it is what makes us an individual.
Over the years, the art of the tattoo has leaked into popular culture, and the world of sneakers is no different. Based on your responses from Twitter and Facebook, we decided to dig deep into the the world of tattoos and solicited pics from you to find some of the best& and the worst& tattoos inspired by sneakers. From Nike, to Air Jordan, to New Balance, to a very clever tattoo of a high top, be prepared to& .well just see for yourself. ÿþThat being said, when Jordan Brand contacted me to be one of the select few to attend the Jordan Brand footwear unveil and launch event of the Air Jordan 32 in Turin, Italy, you could say that it was a dream come true scenario. 8:40 pm Not knowing what to expect from the launch/unveiling event, we all anxiously meet up at the hotel lobby. We follow the Nike reps outside and are greeted by at least 5 Black Maseratis.
The shoes were on display, all three pairs. The Air Jordan 32 Rossa Corsa, the Air Jordan 32 Bred, and the Air Jordan 32 Low in Black and Red. 10:00 pm Once the unveiling commenced we were given a chance to try out the shoe on-court. The court where we played in was on the roof top as well.. Yes, the set-up was as Jordan 1 cool as it sounds. Jordan Brand gifted us a pair of the Air Jordan 32 along with some Jordan Brand apparel to match with it. We suited up, ran some drills and played a quick game to test out the latest and greatest from Jordan Brand. Not pictured, the endless amount of food and drinks, including an entire pig leg, yes pig leg. Edit: Shout out to russbegston for snapping a pic of the gigantic pig leg. My opinion on the shoe? I dig it. I've always wondered what our favorite retros would look like in a modern aesthetic.
