However, the highlight of the afternoon was the adjudicator's critique. She quite rightly marked us down on our diction but praised our warmth of sound, how intently we watched our conductor and our general togetherness as a group. But what really amused was when she went on to describe us overall as 'a lovely warm teabag'. We're not sure whether it had anything to do with the champagne/beige coloured accessories we wear but being compared to a cup of tea (in the nicest possible way) has to be a first.
