Olympic Games from Aug. 16 to 28, Rita Subowo chairperson of the committee said here on Monday.


That compared with 12 athletes sent in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010.


The 27 athletes would vie on 10 out of 28 sports to be held in the international sport event, said Rita.


""Now we send as many as 27 athletes, outnumbering that of 12 in the past (in 2010 in Singapore),"" she disclosed at KOI office at Senayan sport compound.

The chairperson revealed that Indonesia targets to win medals from beach volleyball and weightlifting events.


""We see the opportunities at these two sports are big,"" she added.


In the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010, Indonesia got 1 bronze medal from weightlifting, according to the KOI.
